Common Questions

Is the UXMockup plugin for Photoshop free?

Yes

I just exported a Horizontal Prototype from the panel, can I freely distribute it by email or make it accessible from my website?

Yes. You are free to distribute, share or post online anything you create using the UXMockup Plugin.

Is UXMockup a replacement for the Layer Comp panel?

No. The UXMockup Plugin was simply designed to look, feel and function like some stock panels in order to leverage your muscle memory of Photoshop’s environment. By leveraging your knowledge of Photoshop, you’ll be able to start exporting design documents, slideshows and horizontal prototypes with UXMockup within minutes.

Can I edit the style of the Slideshow or other exports?

Yes. If you are an experienced designer or developer accustomed to editing CSS then you are free to create your own styles. No support is provided for this activity.

Can I use the UXmockup Plugin with CS6?

No. UXMockup requires CC 2017 and above to take advantage of HTTPS and other API enhancements.

Is there is a trial version?

When you download the UXmockup plugin for Photoshop you are downloading a fully functional plugin with no limits on your engagement. No account required.

I just documented my entire set of artboards in Photoshop, where is everything I typed stored?

Inside your PSD as string of XMP data. If you are using our Cloud Platform then this text-based data will also be stored not only on your cloud storage but on our cloud platform. However, actual PSD design content is only stored on your cloud storage and never flows across our infrastructure.

Can PSD files modified by UXMockup be opened by other versions of PS?

Yes. UXMockup stores data in the XMP format within your PSD. If you or someone else opens the PSD in another version of Photoshop, even without the presence of UXMockup, the PSD will function normally. The PSD can even be modified and sent back to you and all the data you entered using UXMockup will still be there.

Does The UXMockup Plugin work with Photoshop Elements?

No. UXMockup requires Photoshop CC 2017 or later.

I closed UXMockup but I’m sure it’s doing something in the background.

No. When the UXMockup panel is closed it’s no-longer running.

Trouble Shooting

How do I uninstall UXMockup?

The recommended method to uninstall the UXMockup Plugin is to run our installer again. When the installer detects an already installed version of the UXmockup Plugin it will offer to uninstall that version. Even if ZXP Installer or Anastasiy was used to install the UXmockup Plugin we recommend using our installer to uninstall.

Dragging Markers on the canvas feels sluggish

In theory this should not happen on current hardware. However, if your PSD has over 1000 Layers and you’re only noticing sluggishness when dragging Markers on the canvas then the issue is lack of OpenCL acceleration. While Photoshop uses the GPU to process 2D composition and other OpenGL effects, our markers are accelerated with OpenCL. If you are running older hardware or running Photoshop in a virtualized environment you may not have access to OpenCL processing and will experience sluggish behaviour. I lost my password, how can I reset it?

You can request a new password from within UXMockup. Under the “Sign In” button you will find a “Forgot Password” link, simply click that to instantly have a temporary password emailed to you.
